Open studio Mending Event
It's FASHION REVOLUTION WEEK and we're hosting a mend in public community event. CINDY CASTRO NEW YORK is opening the doors of their fashion design studio to celebrate creativity, innovation and collaboration. Bring a piece that you love but haven't worn in a while because you dont know how to care for it. In this session we will have our seamstress and team teaching you how to repair your love piece. You will also be able to meet our designer, talk about her path to sustainability and check out the new collection in person!
WORKSHOP EXPECTATIONS - We will repair our torn pockets, loose buttons and broken seams and spark conversations on making Loved Clothes Last. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and contribute to a greener future in fashion!
MATERIALS - We will provide thread, needles, buttons for hand and machine sewing.
SNACKS AND DRINKS - Coffee, drinks and light snacks will be served
You are welcome to bring different garments and we will assess you as the repair will have to be made wihtin the timeframe of the workshop.
We're thrilled to gather our local community and stitch in protest against disposable fashion. Mend in Public Day stands as a beacon of change in a world inundated with fashion waste.
