Giovanni Ghizzani, born in 1988, began playing the piano at a young age and attended the Rinaldo Franci Conservatory in Siena. Later, discovering his passion for jazz, he graduated with honors from the Siena Jazz Foundation. He has studied with prominent jazz professionals and has won several awards, including the Audience Award at the Conad Jazz Contest and the prestigious Massimo Mutti Award.
In 2018, his group "Lost in The Supermarket" won the Audience Award at Umbria Jazz, and in 2019 his group reached the finals in the Marsicovetere and Sibiu jazz competitions. He graduated with honors from the G.B. Martini Conservatory in Bologna, specializing in jazz piano with Gregory Burk.
In 2020, he won second prize in the Chicco Bettinardi competition and first prize in the Forum Live Jazz. He participated in the filming of the HBO series "Succession." In 2021, he was selected for the Barcelona Jazz Master at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, where he studied with leading European musicians.
