WORKSHOP X RESIDENT ARTIST with MARINA TURROJA

💥On Saturday 26th April 2025 from 10.00h to 13.00h, MARINA TURROJA, artist in residency in FREEZONE during this trimester, will share a workshop with the dance community of Barcelona!

About the workshop :

"I propose a workshop that connects textile recycling, writing, and the movement of our fabrics, our skin, our body. We will approach textiles and upcycling, creative transformation, through a sensitive, creative, and imaginative body in motion.

Bring a piece of clothing or a fabric you no longer want. Through it, we will activate questions and, through written stories and dances, we will play with the physicality of a body, in one skin or another, and immerse ourselves in the gesture of weaving and (un)weaving to give a different shape, another body, to what no longer is, to what we no longer want.

The transformation will depend on you, on what you wish. All the pieces you bring will be exchanged, undone, torn apart, and will converse… until each person can weave their new skin."

A bit more about Marina Turroja :

In 2018, she studied the superior degree of contemporary dance at VARIUM, Barcelona, and, after finishing it, she expanded her knowledge in different artistic disciplines, such as vocal interpretation, instant composition and performance techniques in the multidisciplinary program ANFIBIA, in Italy. Upon returning to Barcelona, she continued her training in voice and movement techniques, acting and other somatic approaches and movement methodologies, such as Authentic Movement, BMC, Axis Syllabus and Contact Improvisation. Currently she continues her training always from curiosity and creativity, she is interested in scenic and dance research, positioning the questions in the body, and in the processes.

Sobre le taller :

"Propongo un taller que vincula el reciclaje textil, la escritura y el movimiento de nuestros tejidos, nuestra piel, nuestro cuerpo. Nos acercaremos al textil y al upcycling, la transformación creativa, a través de un cuerpo sensible, creativo e imaginativo, en movimiento.

Trae una prenda de ropa o una tela que ya no quieras. A través de ella activaremos preguntas y, entre relatos escritos y danzas, jugaremos con la fisicalidad de un cuerpo, en una piel u otra, y nos adentraremos en el gesto de tejer y (des)tejer para dar una forma diferente, otra cuerpa, a aquello que ya no es, que ya no queremos.

La transformación dependerá de ti, de lo que tú desees. Todas las piezas que traigáis se intercambiarán, se desharán, se rasgarán, dialogarán… hasta que cada persona pueda tejer su nueva piel."

Un poco más sobre Marina Turroja :

En 2018 cursó el grado superior de danza contemporánea en VARIUM, Barcelona, y, tras terminarlo, amplió sus conocimientos en distintas disciplinas artísticas, como interpretación vocal, composición instantánea y técnicas de actuación en el programa multidisciplinar ANFIBIA, en Italia. Al regresar a Barcelona, continuó su formación en técnicas de voz y movimiento, interpretación y otros enfoques somáticos y metodologías de movimiento, como el Movimiento Auténtico, BMC, Axis Syllabus y Contact Improvisation. Actualmente sigue formándose siempre desde la curiosidad y la creatividad, se interesa por la investigación escénica y en danza, ubicando las preguntas en el cuerpo, y en los procesos.
